Hillbrook Inn & Spa

For our mini-vacay Jon and I went to the Hillbrook Inn & Spa! It was my Christmas present from him, and such an amazing and thoughtful one at that!

While there I had the pleasure of experiencing a facial and a back, neck and shoulder massage at their spa. It was a very luxurious and comfortable event for me. Both women were extremely skilled in their field and I left both appointments feeling relaxed and content. Their spa services are worth every penny and the staff there was pleasant and welcoming when I showed up to my appointments. They are everything you wish for a spa to be for your mini escape from the world.

The food was on a whole other level of excellence! We delighted in having the 3-course dinner the first night, and we are so glad we did, because that meal was completely mouth-watering and something you want to replay over and over. Next time we are definitely going to try the 7-course dinner!

The ambiance of this quaint get-away is perfect for relaxing and regrouping after the hectic holidays. We were warmly welcomed by the whole staff and made to feel completely at home. Our room was modern, yet rustic and an absolute dream. The whole experience was topped off with the beautiful snow which transformed this estate into a winter wonderland (stay tuned for more photos in a few days!). I am so glad we were able to see this wonderful place draped in a fluffy coating of snow, it truly made the trip magical.

Jon and I had such an amazing time and we can't wait to go back!

Here are some photos of our amazing trip!

Have you ever visited this wonderful place? How was your experience?

Product Review: Dr. Perricon's Cold Plasma

Perricone MD's Cold Plasma

Perricone MD Cold Plasma Face 1 oz

I discovered this product through I sample I got from Sephora a couple months back. I loved how it made my skin feel and I didn't break out from it, so I though I would give it a try. Generally you can't see the expected results from just one sample. However before I made the purchase I researched it a bit to see what it actually did. Here is what I found:

This product supplies skin with vital nutrients to address 10 visible signs of aging: wrinkles, enlarged pores, dryness, redness, discoloration, uneven skin tone, impurities, loss of firmness, loss of smoothness and loss of radiance. As you can see this product helps with so many different unwanted things that happen to the skin! For me it helps mostly with impurities, uneven skin tone, some enlarged pores and loss of smoothness; and then it helps prevent the others!

So for anyone who has trouble with any of the above and have tried many different products but none have worked, then you might want to give this product a try.

It is lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin. I put it on after my toner and then follow with my serum and then cream or lotion. I have been using this product for about 2 months now and have only seen improvements to my skin.

Have any of you tried this product? What are your thoughts?

After breakfast I had an amazing massage. I will share more details about our stay and how wonderful a place Hillbrook is!

Walk in Charles Town, WV

Here are some photos I took on my vacation with Jon this past weekend. We were able to stop in at Charles Town, West Virginia on Monday and explore a bit. The sun was so bright and the skies were a perfect blue, so even though there really wasn't a lot to take photos of, I was able to find a few choice buildings as my subjects.

Have you ever been to Charles Town, WV?

As a nice reprieve from the freezing weather I decided to play with some fun colors and create a striking look to step out of my everyday neutral colors. This look plunges into the beautiful blues, pinks, purples and greens to create an impressionist inspired composition!

What colors do you like to wear when you step out of your everyday neutral?
